Company History
Originally founded in 1946 by H.V.Richmond the company takes great pride by still being owned, managed and operated by the Richmond family. Today the fleet strength contains 25 modern, powerful, luxury Coaches of varying sizes and specifications to suit customers various requirements. Our fleet is available for hire by the hour the day or for multi day tours lasting in excess of a month. We are available for all types of journeys from local journeys into London or East Anglia to long distance touring throughout the UK and Europe. Our modern fleet is maintained by our own specialist technicians in our extensive modern workshops to ensure total safety and reliability.
Our team of professional drivers are uniformed and have many years of experience dealing with different types of groups from Students to Diplomats. We can handle anything from small group travel to multi coach conference work.
Location
We are located in a prime site of North Hertfordshire on the border of Cambridgeshire and Essex we have excellent road links with the Motorway Network being 12 miles South of Cambridge and 36 miles North of Central London. We are close to Stansted and Luton airports and are very accessible to the ports of Harwich, Tilbury, Dover and also Heathrow and Gatwick airports.
Coaches
We offer a wide range of coaches seating capacities available are 16,25,38,49,53. As standard all coaches are fitted with reclining seats with extended legroom fitted with type approved lap belts with double glazed tinted windows featuring either full draw curtains or blinds with forced air ventilation. As standard all coaches have radio / cassette or CD with public address system. Many of our coaches also have additional oil fired central heating systems.
Additionally the following on board features can be requested including wc/washroom, vhs video or DVD and monitor, hot drinks facilities, tables, full air conditioning.
The Team of Staff
- The management team consists of David Richmond and Michael Richmond (the Sons of the Founder), Rick Ellis, Andrew Richmond, Craig Ellis and Natalie Richmond.
- Office reservations team consists of Lynda, Rita, Michelle, Helena and Natasha backed up by our Accountant Ray Waldock.
- Our team of professional drivers have a wide variety of experience between them and are used to dealing with all types of groups from students to diplomats. Our driving team are always smartly turned out in their Richmond Uniform and are involved on a regular basis with ongoing training to keep them up to date on vehicle and legal developments within the industry as well as attending customer care courses.
- Our technicians led by Chief Engineer Steve Legate maintain our fleet of modern coaches to a high standard in our own specialist workshops to ensure total safety and reliability.
- Our team of coach valeters led by our Yard Foreman David Howes ensures that when you hire one of our coaches it has been fully prepared to our gleaming standards before the coach leaves our premises
Services
In addition to coach hire we can help with tour planning or assist with those extras that are sometimes needed.
We can supply on request tour escorts and city guides or airport meet and greet staff. We can also arrange hotel accommodation, meals, sea crossings by boat or tunnel, travel insurance, theatre tickets, and tickets for other attractions.
